John Eshleman
Public Affairs Director

John Eshleman’s retirement avenues opened up for study and travel and becoming an autodidact.

John graduated from Stanford University and U.C. San Francisco and was docent at the San Jose Museum of Art for three years. His hobbies and interests include chess, bridge, tennis (went to Wimbledon and two French Opens) and white water kayaking – fun! He attended four Stanford Rose Bowls and if he broke 90 in golf it was celebration time.

In addition to being a long-term member of the Hoover Council at the Hoover Institution, John is a world-class traveler who had two inspirational Hoover Institution sponsored river trips (Danube and Rhine), one of which featured Newt Gingrich was the main speaker. John’s travels span Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, England and China.

John is a published author who penned “Masterful Words” which outlines methods for building a strong and effective vocabulary with proper syntax and grammar. He’s also a member of the NRA, edits the Newsletter of the Saratoga Men’s Club and serves on the editorial staff of the Los Gatos Rotary.

John now serves as the Public Affairs Director for the Conservative Party of California.
