David L. Schott
David L. Schott was born in Wichita, Kansas, the second of three children born to James and Marilyn Schott. At the end of his naval tour of service, James moved his young family from Kansas to his home state of West Virginia, where David was raised and lived until enlisting in the US Army as a personnel administration specialist in 1979. After completing his military service, David returned to West Virginia and joined his father in the home improvement and construction business. He met and married his wife Victoria in 1985, becoming both husband, and stepfather to her two children from a previous marriage on the same day.
Upon his father's retirement, David left the construction business and pursued a variety of different vocations until settling into custom printing services, offering business to business products in the region encompassing Southeastern Ohio, and Northwestern West Virginia. After completing her studies at West Virginia University, David's stepdaughter married, and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, taking a position in the marketing department of one of the areas largest banks.
After a few years, David and Victoria relocated to Charlotte to be close to their daughter, and have been residents of North Carolina since November 2003. He is a spiritual man, and a student of the world's five major religions, although very comfortable in his own faith. He is a grandfather who is concerned about the national debt being passed off to his grandchildren. He is veteran, who is concerned about the federal government's expansion into the affairs of state and local governments, and the overstepping of constitutional authority in general. He prefers to think for himself, and considers himself able to distinguish fact from fiction, and right from wrong.
