Three children have nine cupcakes. Nine divided by three equals three. Each child will have three cupcakes.
Equal distribution works every time, right?
Pretend two of the children are selfish. They each want to have the most cupcakes so the two selfish children each steal a cupcake from the other child. Now there are two children who have four cupcakes each and one totally unhappy child.
It is usually at about this point that the fight begins. Somehow, all nine cupcakes end up in crumbs all over the floor. Now all three children are crying. Mom suddenly appears with a single cupcake for each child and the tears are slowly replaced by smiles.
Many people look at a “third political party” much the same way as the two selfish children. Pardon my bluntness – how childish!
America is blessed with a wonderful Constitution. That Constitution provides for Freedom of Choice. What happens if all of the choices are not what you would select? You come up with an alternate plan, right? So here we are… the alternate plan. This party is new but the ideas that founded it are not.
Conservatism has always been around. We just haven’t had a really Conservative candidate to vote for the last several years. How is Obama’s “hope and change” administration working out for American? Well, in fact, it isn’t. He is making havoc of our Constitution and selling America down the river. Because of his “hope” that we don’t send HIM down the river with all the liberals we unseat in 2010 and “change” him into a real “never-was,” more and more Conservatives are popping up everywhere.
There are a few Democrats in America who believe in strictly interpreting the Constitution. They are pro-life and individually against “big government.” There is just so much pressure from the DNC for them to “tow the Party line” so they end up voting with the other Dems. They aren’t happy about having to do it, but there you have it.
I personally know many Republicans who are some of the most Conservative people you would ever find. One of them is my Congressman. He was the only political speaker at our Tax Day Tea Party. He gave a brilliant speech saying at one point that he expected a letter from the RNC telling him to support the Party more. He answered the question he left in the air by saying, “I will support the Republican Party as long as it is a Conservative issue.”
This is where I reveal to you who the “third party” is. If you haven’t guessed already – The Libertarians. In the last several elections on the local, state and national levels their numbers have increased along with their voting strength. Still, there are people who will tell you, “I am Libertarian, but…”
What most voters in America want are political candidates to vote FOR – not against. They want candidates who believe in the same values they do. In the political arena values translates to “platform.” With that in mind, I present to you the “alternate plan.” This is the Conservative Party in the United States of America. The platform, or tenets, is simple and easy to understand. Here it is as edited by this writer who just happens to be one of the least known “mouths of the South!” (But I’m working on it.)
- Government works best at the local level.
- America is a country of a distinguished founding, historical experiences, and a unique path to the future.
- Government cannot legislate a perfect life for its citizens.
- Citizens have a contract with the past, the present, and the future to:
a. Preserve the best of our ancestors and change only that which leads to a better civil and social existence.
b. Voluntarily assist those less prosperous.
c. Conserve natural resources for our posterity - Government actions should pertain to fair and just competition.
- The Federal government has reduced the citizen’s responsibility in life by overextending its participation in education, economics, food, and housing.
- Spending of citizens’ ethically and legally earned money and consuming our posterities’ resources are not signs of a virtuous political organization.
- The primary benefits of charity are ascribed to the voluntary donor and the recipients of material goods from a central authority show no gratitude.
- Those who believe that redistribution of wealth is an entitlement will themselves cause detriment to their posterity due to a lack of restraint much like consumerists believe our natural resources are purely for present consumption.
Each of our 50 states is different; therefore, each state has its own website information. This will give a member of the party one place to go for the platform rather than the National Party Website as well as the State Party Website. It is true that there is a Conservative Party in the United States of America website with no state affiliation. The reason for this is explained perfectly in the Party Pamphlet:
The national Conservative Party beliefs reside in the principals of Educate, Advise, Select and Elect (E.A.S.E).
The purpose is to educate and advise so the that (sic) candidates may be selected and elected to enact laws within “the limits and boundaries of Government as framed by the Founding Fathers…”
Elected officials are individuals that legislate local issues. An issue in one state may not be an issue in a distant state. Therefore, the Conservative Party believes it unwise for it to author original planks, but rather, endorse and support those arising from the states that meet the standard of the national platform and defeat those that do not.
Naturally, things will not happen as rapidly as anyone would like. The Conservative Party may not have at least one candidate on every local ballot in time for the next election. It becomes a certainty if the Conservative citizens of America continue to sit idly by as the Republican Party continues its move to center-right and sometimes center-left and the Democratic Party continues its rapid movement to extreme left.
Conservatives love America and voice it as no other single group of people. Are you using your voice to its full potential? Is it time for you to run for a seat on the City Council in your City? Alderman? Coroner? Mayor? Sheriff? Perhaps in your city a Conservative candidate needs an army behind him.
Seek out other Conservative voters in your district and see if you don’t have that army already that you never noticed before. You may find that your friends and neighbors have been looking for a truly solid Conservative candidate to vote for.
My father, a good old country man from Arkansas, was fond of saying as we sat together in his flat-bottom aluminum fishing boat for hours on end without even a nibble, “Somebody’s got to catch one, and it may as well be you.”
