Abortion Litmus Test for S.C. Nominees

Published April 23rd, 2010 in Editorials, Political Thoughts | No Comments »

Obama declared that their will not be an abortion litmus test for Supreme Court nominee on abortion.   I agree that their should be no specific issue litmus test.  However their should be a litmus test as the constitution mandates as to the potential nominee’s adherence to a strict interpretation of the constitution as envisioned by our founders.

Wake Up New York

Regarding the news about Republicans wooing Steven Levy as their candidate for Governor. This decision clearly demonstrates how the State GOP are bankrupt on ideas and talent.

Also they fail to check the facts as regards to Levy’s political philosophy as he is being hailed by them as a Conservative.  Nothing can be further from the truth.   He is in favor of gun control, abortion on demand, and gay marriage etc.

In regards to the candidacy of Rick Lazio.  He ran a lackluster campaign for Senate against Hillary Clinton.  In congress he voted in favor of the Brady Gun Control Bill and favors civil unions for homosexuals and is “wishy washy” on abortion at best.

Wake up New York!

Regarding the passage of a gay marriage bill by DC city officials.

As DC according to the Constitution is the national seat of Government no city authority in DC has standing to pass legislation only to advise.  On that basis the courts are duty bound to vacate this bill.

Lame Duck Governor Witholding Refunds

Published March 2nd, 2010 in Editorials, Political Thoughts, Uncategorized | No Comments »

Our lame duck governor’s scheme to delay refunds to state taxpayers is unconscionable.  An example of government imperialism.  If a taxpayer is late paying his tax’s the government can impose and does so a financial penalty.  However it is okay for them to withhold what they owe the taxpayers without fear of sanction.  This action flies in the face of the concept of by the people for the people of the people as envisioned and mandated by the framers of our Constitution.

Support Your Local Conservative

A gentleman I know is really quite fed up with the Republican Party and the nonsense they have been promoting as candidates and issues recently.  He received a request for funds from his Congressional District in the form of a survey.

Like most of us who have formerly supported Republican candidates, he has come to the same conclusion others have.  “You’re not playing, so we’re not paying.”

He penned a letter and returned it in the survey envelope.  He gave me permission to reprint it here:

I want you to know how extremely offended I was to receive your “2010 Congressional District Survey” fundraising packet in the mail today.

You need to know that not only will I not be contributing to the Republican Party, but I fully intend to vote against every single Republican incumbent in every election in 2010.

I find it to be blatantly egregious and hypocritical that the Republican Party in Congress and the Senate are conducting business as usual when a usurper, a treasonous fraud, and a hate-America Communist agent is illegally occupying the office of the president.

Surely you all are aware of the almost 2 million protestors who came to Washington DC on September 11. You must be aware of the millions of pink slips that have been flooding into Congressmen’s offices.

[…]
You need to get off your duffs, dust off your copies of the
United States Constitution and remove the usurper from office. While you are doing that, read your Republican Party platform, and abide by it.

If you fail to do that, you’d better have some true conservative Republicans in future races, because I and millions like me are going to send incumbent Republicans packing – possibly spelling the end of the Republican Party.

Nice letter, don’t you think?  Quite truthful as well.  So many people I know who have always considered themselves Republican are being more and more disenchanted with the Republican Party.  Justifiably, they are pulling their support from the Republicans both with their votes and with their donations.

I have always thought of myself as independent; I prefer to vote the man rather than the party.  Since the inception and growth of the Independent Party, I have gradually leaned away from them just as I have from the Republican Party.

I believe in God, family and country.  I support our military above their Commander-in-Chief – especially in the case of THIS commander-in-chief.  As I age, gracefully I hope, I am becoming more Conservative by the minute.  I am finished with any candidate who will tell me they support my views “except under conditions of…”

There are no conditions.  You are Conservative or you aren’t.  I am and so is my friend who wrote the letter.  It seems the Congressional District letter didn’t reach them in time for them to pass the word down their money-chain.

A few days later, he received the same kind of letter from his County Republican Committee.  Once again, he sat down with pen in hand….

Thank you for sending the notice about honoring our heroes. Our son is about to go off into the military, so those are sentiments that are close to our hearts right now.

However, you need to know that there are many folks like me who are extremely upset at the Republican Party right now. I’m a Republican.  I’ve voted Republican for all of my adult life. I do truly believe that there existed a great divide between the hate-America Democrats and what
used to be the patriotic America-loving Republican Party. Unfortunately, from what we are seeing these days, the divide is not that great — if it even exists at all.

I’m afraid that not only can I not support the Republican Party with my loyalty and donations, but I am determined to do everything I can to help remove ALL incumbent Republicans from ALL offices come the next elections.

For the same reasons he provides to the Republican offices in his state and county, I am doing what I can to support the Conservative Party – USA because I believe in the values, opinions and ideas that they espouse on the national site as well as these individual State sites.

While I do not represent them when I speak, I do support the same candidates because I recognize that the only way I as an American citizen can change anything is with my vote.  In order to have a candidate for me to vote for, I must donate a little money.  Actually, if I had access to more, I would donate more.

In talking with some of the Conservative candidates in recent elections as well as some in upcoming elections, it has been made clear to me that my money can not do anything by itself regardless of whether I give $10 or $10,000.  It takes all of us working together.

If you consider yourself Conservative, I urge you to put your money literally where your mouth is.  Support Conservative candidates seeking election in your area.  If you have money to spare, I know the Conservative Party organizations would appreciate your support as well.

We have many problems in our government from the local level all the way to the top of the federal level.  America is a land of freedom, and our freedoms are at stake.  Our very Constitution is at risk of being ripped apart by the (choose one) Socialists, Marxists, Communists and all-around-American-haters who are serving us in elected office.  We alone can stop this charge.

Banding together to do anything and everything we can as individuals to elect the right people to represent us will gradually undo some if not all of the damage these unqualified people have done to our nation.  We must start now.  Delay causes defeat and defeat is NOT an option!

There is another organization working hard to take our nation back, and I would encourage you to join their efforts as well.  The American Grand Jury seeks proof positive that the man who calls himself our president is a Constitutionally elected office-holder.  If Obama has nothing to hide; if he made a mistake when he said that his father was a Kenyan (which would make Obama at the very least a British-born citizen rather than a Native-born American citizen as the Constitution requires); if he can produce evidence to convince me and others that he is indeed qualified to hold that office I am willing to continue fighting against what will surely be his re-election campaign in 2012.  Otherwise, I want him removed in chains from the people’s house and tried for treason as the Constitution demands.

Our Conservative goals can be reached.  It will require all of us working together as one voice.  To quote my favorite politician, Governor Sarah Palin, “Government is supposed to work for the people; not the other way round.”

A Seat at The Table

On the eve of some important elections in America, I was thinking about what a difference a year makes.

One year ago, America was in financial turmoil and then history was made with the election of Barack Obama.  Beyond his election, Washington D.C., was solidified as a Democrat’s paradise with the White House and Capitol Hill now in the hands of the Democrats. What has been the result in the first eleven months? A conservative revolution.

“But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”

John Adams, letter to Abigail Adams, July 17, 1775

Watching The Ship Sail – A Tale Of The Republican Party

Published November 1st, 2009 in Political Thoughts | No Comments »

In the good old days when the Grand Old Party was truly grand,
crossing the oceans by ocean liner was still quite popular.
Fortunately for the Republican Party of today, that is not the case.
If it were, there would only be an all too public demonstration of
their leadership’s expertise at missing the boat. (more…)

When Three is the NOT Lowest Common Denominator

Three children have nine cupcakes. Nine divided by three equals three. Each child will have three cupcakes.

Equal distribution works every time, right?

Happy GirlHappy Boy Eyes Closed Child

Pretend two of the children are selfish. They each want to have the most cupcakes so the two selfish children each steal a cupcake from the other child.

Cupcakes

Now there are two children who have four cupcakes each…

Crying Boy…and one totally unhappy child.

It is usually at about this point that the fight begins. Somehow, all nine cupcakes end up in crumbs all over the floor. Now all three children are crying. Mom suddenly appears with a single cupcake for each child and the tears are slowly replaced by smiles.

Not hard to understand

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.  What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.  When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.  You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
