The home of the convention will be the Loew’s New Orleans Hotel. The hotel is located at 300 Poydras Street, New Orleans, LA 70130. Check-in policies and hotel information can be found here. The main hotel phone number is 504-636-3300 .

Room Cost is $126/night for single or double occupancy. This special rate includes taxes and state fees. Please make your reservation directly with the Hotel Reservations department by calling 866-563-9792. Be sure to mention “Conservative Party USA” when you call to assure this special rate. Naturally, a standard credit card required and rooms are subject to availability.

For convention activities, the Registration Fee is $175 per convention attendee. Be an early bird and register for only $150 per attendee if paid by June 15, 2010. This fee will entitle you to all the convention activities including the reception on Thursday night, July 22, the banquet on Saturday night (evening wear required), July 24, and the business meetings held during each day (casual dress) of the convention. Please make checks payable to the “Conservative Party USA” and mail to:

11814 Coursey Blvd #530

Baton Rouge, LA, 70816

Attn: 2010 Convention.

On the assumption that most people will be flying, the most economical transportation from the airport to the hotel is the New Orleans Airport Shuttle. The rate is $38 round trip or $20 one way per passenger. This will provide ample savings over the normal $30 one way per person taxi fare. Please contact the shuttle service to reserve by calling 504-522-3500 or visit their website linked above.

If you plan to drive to the convention, be aware that the hotel provides valet parking with a convention discount of $20.00 per night.

Part of the business of the convention will be the debating of Party Planks. As a member in good standing of the Conservative Party USA, you are eligible and invited to submit suggestions for consideration to be included in the Party Planks. The National Site of the Conservative Party USA offers the abstract form for you to make your suggestion. You will also find on this site the method that will be used for approval of planks submitted by the membership.

I look forward to seeing you there.

I have been closely following the Primary Elections in the various states to this point. There have been twelve so far in addition to three Special Elections with Hawai’i having a Special Election on May 22.

By my count, 74 Governors, Senators and Congressmen will not be part of the November General Elections, the “mid-terms.” Some of the Governors are stopped by term limits, some Senators and Congressmen are retiring (wonder why?), one has been denied the nomination of his Party for reelection, Bob Bennett of Utah, two have been kicked out in the Primary, Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and Alan Mollohan of West Virginia,. Two have resigned due to scandal, Mark Souder from Indiana and Eric Massa from New York. Several others are running for another national or state office.

Unfortunately, we will not really know until November whether we have taken a major step toward returning our America to what it was and should be. Until then there is an issue we must address. The sooner we do so the better equipped we will be to handle the tide of swelling Socialism in the United States.

Everyone knows that the major problem is the liberals/Socialists in Washington, DC. We must continue trying to get rid of as many liberal elected officials as we possibly can, but I have to tell you – it does not look too good from where I sit.

Incumbents whether Democrat or Republican are being elected in their primaries in overwhelming numbers. Folks, we simply cannot march in our TEA Parties, stand on the steps of the Capitol or continue sending letters, emails and making phone calls telling our elected officials that they do not represent us, and that we will remember this in November if we keep reelecting them in the primaries.

It is true that some of the Democrats are getting a little worried about their jobs and trying to give the appearance of moving more centrist than left, but that is merely an act on their part. You know that as well as I do.

In all fairness, I think some of the Republicans are getting our message as well, but it is much too little and much too late.

The Republican Party is being infiltrated by a group who want to change the Republican Platform and planks to a more socially liberal stance. These are the Libertarians. For years, they have had their own party. The problem is, they have not been able to succeed in gaining much support from American voters – until now. Their party is losing money and going bankrupt. The party leadership are not even trying to rebuild their party – they are going to take over the Republican Party because of the established track record and the money issues.

The problem is, they do not want to maintain and grow the Republican Party. Their one goal is to remake the Republican Party into the Libertarian Party while keeping the Republican Party brand. Is this what Republicans really want? Do the Liberty Republicans have any intention whatsoever of keeping the Republican Platform in tact? Not for one second.

They have succeeded in gaining footholds in many of our primaries forcing some die-hard Republicans to consider voting for Democrats in November. I do not blame them. At least with a Democrat, you know what you are getting.

Libertarians are hiding in the Republican Party as Liberty Republicans. They receive endorsements from Liberty Candidates. All the while, this is still the Ron Paul Libertarian Party with all of its socially liberal viewpoints. Ron Paul and his son, Rand Paul in Kentucky, have made bold speeches saying out-right that they want to “re-form” the Republican Party.

Michael Steele is not doing anything that I can see to avoid this takeover. In fact, he is looking only for candidates “who can win the election.” Such was the case with Dede Scozzafava in NY-23 last year. What was the result of that fiasco? She withdrew her candidacy and threw her support to the Democrat who eventually won the election.

If our elected officials are not willing or not aware of the situation to help stop this takeover, and if the leader of the Republican Party is not willing to stop it, what are we to do as voters in the Republican Party who are not willing to accept the platform changes the Libertarians will bring with them? Make no mistake about it – it WILL happen.

I have a suggestion for all of us. Tell the Republican Party to kiss your foot. Stop sending money to them. But if you do that, for whom will you vote? What do you look for to get the conservative issues you demand and the representation you deserve?

The Conservative Party USA is waiting to welcome you home. Come to the place where only conservative issues are held and uplifted. Support the party in your state. If they haven’t established the Conservative Party in your state, why not be the one to get it started? Candidates? They are everywhere – living right next door to you. Maybe even you.

It takes a lot of work to get a major political movement going and growing in the right direction. Be part of the solution for America – not the problem. Join the Conservative Party and show Americans what REAL Conservatism is and what it can do. Get involved. If we all work together, there may still be time to field our own Party Candidates in November. Why not give it a try?

Who knows – you just might succeed.

Regarding the news about Republicans wooing Steven Levy as their candidate for Governor. This decision clearly demonstrates how the State GOP are bankrupt on ideas and talent.

Also they fail to check the facts as regards to Levy’s political philosophy as he is being hailed by them as a Conservative. Nothing can be further from the truth. He is in favor of gun control, abortion on demand, and gay marriage etc.

In regards to the candidacy of Rick Lazio. He ran a lackluster campaign for Senate against Hillary Clinton. In congress he voted in favor of the Brady Gun Control Bill and favors civil unions for homosexuals and is “wishy washy” on abortion at best.

I got the strangest thing in my mail today. It’s a questionnaire from the Republican National Party. They want me to fill it out giving them my feelings about issues facing Americans.

Do you agree with Barack Obama and the Democrats that taxes should be raised for the sake of “fairness,” regardless of the negative impact it is likely to have on the economy?

Do you believe the federal government has gone too far in bailing out failing banks, insurance companies and the auto industry?

Do you support amnesty for illegal immigrants?

Should English be the official language of the United States?

Are you in favor of granting retroactive Social Security eligibility to illegal immigrants who gain U.S. citizenship through an amnesty program?

Are you in favor of the expanded welfare benefits and unlimited eligibility (no time, education or work requirements) that Democrats in Congress are pushing to pass?

Do you believe that Barack Obama’s nominees for federal courts should be immediately and unquestionably approved for their lifetime appointments by the U.S. Senate?

Do you believe that the best way to increase the quality and effectiveness of public education in the U.S. is to rapidly expand federal funding while eliminating performance standards and accountability?

Do you support the creation of a national health insurance plan that would be administered by bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.?

Do you believe that the quality and availability of health care will increase if the federal government dictates pricing to doctors and hospitals?

Are you confident that new medicines and medical treatments will continue to be developed if the federal government controls prescription drug prices and sets profit margins for research and pharmaceutical companies?

Are you in favor of creating a government-funded “Citizen Volunteer Corps” that would pay young people to do work now done by churches and charities, earning Corps Members the same pay and benefits given to military veterans?

Are you in favor of reinstituting the military draft, as Democrats in Congress have proposed?

Do you believe that the federal government should allow the unionization of Department of Homeland Security employees who serve in positions critical to the safety and security of our nation?

Do you support Democrats’ drive to eliminate workers’ right to a private ballot when considering unionization of their place of employment?

Over half a legal-sized page remained filled with ways for me to send $500 (obviously the preferred amount since it is listed first), $250, $100, $50, $30, Other amount. Don’t you just know that’s going to happen??!!

Well, I have filled out their little questionnaire, and when I mail it back tomorrow, it will also include this little hand-written letter from me.

The Republican Party will get not one red cent from me!

You have abandoned “our” conservative values and ideals as much as or more than the Obamacrats!

The only reason I will vote for even one Republican is because the Conservative Party has not yet met all the requirements for fielding candidates of our own.

You blew it with me when you failed to speak up for Sarah Palin and allowed the McCain campaign to throw her under the bus.

You lost my support when you said we need to move to the center of right.

You lost my respect when you abandoned a truly conservative candidate in NY-23, Doug Hoffman, in favor of a candidate who is anything but conservative.

You gave up any chance you had of earning my respect back by saying that we have to support the candidates that can win.

No! No more! Not one red cent from me!

Here is the address is you would like to join me in my determination to see to it that the Republican Party actually HEARS the conservative voices of America:

The latest to join the ranks of the unemployed of their own volition are Senator Byron Dorgan of North Dakota and (thank God for answered prayers) Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut. Bless their hearts they’re tired and ready to rest after their long illustrious (?) careers during which time they have sent America and Americans down the tubes.

It was Senator Dorgan, you may remember, who proposed an amendment to the Harry Reid Socialistic Health Care for a Socialistic America Bill to allow consumers to buy FDA-approved drugs from other countries. In a twist of Harry Reid’s nose, the pharmaceutical industry in America opposed this amendment thus it was defeated in the Senate by a 51-48 vote.

Senator Dodd, of course, was responsible for the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac debacle among others. He was also implicated as having received major kickbacks from Countrywide Financial Corp. which was under investigation by the Connecticut Attorney General’s office.

These two retirements are really good news for our Conservative voices. They will have little lasting meaning unless we join together in North Dakota and Connecticut as well as our other 48 states to defeat the liberal incumbents who are seeking reelection in 2010 and have not as yet received our message. Please be reminded that liberals are not only Democrats. They are Republican, Liberty, and Independent party members also.

Find them, Conservatives of America! Find them under whichever rock they are choosing to hide and let them know that we are deadly serious. We WILL remove them from office in 2010 and replace them with truly conservative Representatives and Senators!

We must start this process in Massachusetts on January 19 by electing Scott Brown the fill the Teddy Kennedy seat. Then one by one, we must unseat the others. Be determined, Conservatives.

Our time is NOW. Our voices are loud and we are in unison with our message. “Liberal, you’ve taken us for granted for the last time! We want your jobs! And we WILL get them!”

Have you ever given any thought to whether or not you are actually classified as a Republican, a Democrat, an Independent or Whocares? And why is this important in the first place?

The Republican Party Platform

The most comprehensive information I could find comes from the 2008 platform. I’ll try to shorten the 67 pages of the PDF file for you.

All Americans should affirm that our first obligation is the security of our country. To all those who defend it, we owe our full support and gratitude.

The security of our country is now everyone’s responsibility, from the Department of Homeland Security to state and local first responders, private businesses, and individual families.

Nuclear terrorism demands a comprehensive strategy for reducing the world’s nuclear stockpiles and preventing proliferation.

Intelligence is America’s first line of defense.

America can have a strong immigration system without sacrificing the rule of law.

Our Armed Forces today are modern, agile, and adaptable to the unpredictable range of challenges in the years ahead. We pledge to keep them that way.

The Republican vision of peace through strength requires a sustained international effort, which complements our military activities, to develop and maintain alliances and relationships that will lead to greater peace and stability.

Republicans will uphold and defend our party’s core principles: Constrain the federal government to its legitimate constitutional functions. Unleash the power of enterprise, innovation, civic energy, and the American spirit — and never pretend that government is a substitute for family or community.

Empowering the States, Improving Public Services.

I think you get the general idea. National security, nuclear weapons restrictions, enforcement of immigration laws, international alliances, adherence to the Constitution, and States’ Rights through the power of the Tenth Amendment seem to provide the basis for what Republicans are supposed to believe and promote. Naturally, the document mentioned above goes into much more detail than I provided here. If you have about an hour to kill, you might want to read the entire 67-page document.

The Democratic Platform

Since I used the 2008 Republican Platform, I sought the 2008 Democratic Platform for comparison.

I found this one more easily read and the actual policies seem to be more visually appealing.

Jumpstart the Economy and Provide Middle Class Americans Immediate Relief

Empowering Families for a New Era

Affordable, Quality Health Care Coverage for All Americans

Retirement and Social Security

Good Jobs with Good Pay

Opportunity for Women

Investing in American Competitiveness

New American Energy

A World Class Education for Every Child

I have listed only the first nine “principles” as I did from the Republican platform. I am trying to be fair, but I have to admit, it isn’t easy. I read more than just the headlines in this 59-page PDF file, and it smacks of pure Socialism with a Communistic threat to the non-Democrats in America.

My next computer search was for information regarding the Independent Party Platform. The search provided more detail than I was expecting. Which Independent Party Platform shall I choose? There is the Independent American Party and the American Independent Party.

Next was the Libertarian Party then the Green Party.

I have decided that I prefer a “none-of-the-above” approach. I want something plain and simple that spells out what the party believes in, what they stand for, and what is important to the majority of the American people. It would be totally impossible, in my opinion, to provide one single set of “platform statements” that would fit every American perfectly, but I think the one that comes closest to the ideals of the Constitution and the founders of our nation is one that I have written about on at least one other occasion.

In the center section of the national site for the Conservative Party-USA is a comprehensive writing of what the Conservative Party believes. Continued on a separate page is a complete listing of 14 items that form the base of the Conservative Party. Now we have come to the place where I seem to fit personally better than any of the others.

Believing so strongly in the Tenth Amendment, there are individual State Sites as well. When I first began writing for the Conservative Party-USA in addition to my own blog there were four sites: National, California, Louisiana, and Florida. My first post was on August 3, 2009 on the California State Site. As I write today (December 12, 2009) there are 14 State Sites in addition to the National Site; joining California, Louisiana, and Florida are Arizona, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Kansas, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio and Alaska.

Okay, you’ve been patient with me by reading this, so let me give you the opportunity to have a little input. Which of the political parties I mentioned has grown more in the entirety of 2009? What is the conviction of the largest number of people in the United States? Which party comes closest to fitting with your own personal political beliefs?

If you answer those questions the same way I have, you will probably come to the same conclusion I did. Do yourself a favor: check out the National Site as well as your own individual State Site. If you have thought about becoming politically active yourself but don’t want to run for a political office in your area, I am certain you will be able to find a need in your State Conservative Party that only you can fill.

Now is the only time we have to speak up for our conservative principles. If we do not do it now, we may not have another opportunity.
